Drones – knowledge and experience of their use under the conditions of the Czech Fire Brigade
The presentation is about issues of operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) at the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. In the first part of presentation the concept of unmanned systems operation will be presented. The whole concept is based on dislocation of the support points, ie stations equipped with UAV. In this part the usability of UAV for the purposes of the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic will be evaluated and the legal framework concerning the operation of aerial work will be briefly stated. At the end of the presentation, the experience of the members of the Technical Institute of Fire Protection when deploying an UAV will be presented.
Ondřej Suchý works in the Technical Institute of Fire Protection, which is a part of the General Directorate of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. Ondřej graduated in 2003 at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. In 2012 he finished postgradual studium at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and he received Ph.D. title with doctoral thesis The Study of Copper Oxide Layers by Raman Spectroscopy. He joined the Technical Institute of Fire Protection in 2006 as a researcher on the research and development department of the Institute. He specialised in infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and later in determination of toxicity of gaseous products of thermal decomposition. He has become the head of research and development department since 2013. In the same year he has become also a manager and a main researcher of researcher products of the Technical Institute of Fire Protection. Ondřej i salso a member of international standard comittee CEN/TC 305 WG1, which deals with determination of explosive parameters.
