Implementation of the Galileo Public Regulated Service in the Czech Republic

Galileo, the European Global Navigation Satelite System, will offer to its users a set of services designated for various users with different requirements. One of them – Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS) – is dedicated only to government-authorised users who require the highest continuity of service with controlled access. In accordance with EU legislation, access to PRS puts the particular demands and tasks on the relevant stakeholders responsible for implementation of PRS and its management. The aim of the presentation is to provide the overall information on current status and way forward in the proccess of PRS implementation in the Czech Republic. 


Curriculum Vitae

Radovan Klima has been working for the Czech Competent PRS Authority within National Security Authority of the Czech Republic since November 2013. His previous career was closely tied with military service in the Czech Armed Forces. He graduated from University of Defence in area of geodesy and cartography in 1994. After graduation, he started to work for Geographic Service of the Czech Armed Forces as a land surveyor.

From 2001 to 2003 he acted as the assistant professor on University of Defence responsible for lectures on Geodesy and Geophysics, practical exercises and lead through geodesy computing exercises.

From 2003 to 2011 he worked as Deputy Chief and lately as Chief of the GPS Main Military Point of Contact of the Czech Armed Forces and acted as CZE representative responsible for technical issues in NATO NC3B SC-8 Navigation Subcommittee.

From 2011 to 2013 he led Geographic Support Development Section and acted as Deputy Chief of Research and Developing Branch responsible for leading and supervising of research and developing projects for geospatial support and implementation of GNSS technology.
